Pregnancy Fitness Tips

Regular exercise benefits your body in many ways during pregnancy. It helps keep your weight in check, keeps you fit for labour, and is known to relieve stress. Here are some tips you may want to consider while exercising during pregnancy:

 Consult your doctor

It is a good idea to consult your doctor when coming up with a fitness plan. This way, you can make a plan that is tailor-made for your body’s needs. Doctors will most likely suggest specific exercises or stretches, and also inform you of the ones you may want to avoid.

 Choose your exercises

Even simply walking for 20 minutes every day helps you stay fit during your pregnancy. Pilates, yoga and dancing are also good forms of exercise to consider. Remember to stretch often to keep your muscles from tensing and aching.

 Create a routine

Creating a specific fitness routine will reduce the likelihood of you wearing yourself out. Keeping the exercises relatively mild is your best option, as you don’t want to cause your body unwanted strain.

 Keep hydrated

It is important to keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water during your pregnancy. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables also gives your body the nutrients it needs.

 Listen to your body

While following your doctor’s advice and adhering to a plan, make sure you listen to your body. If you feel sore or more tired than usual, take a break from your fitness routine. Rest is equally important during your pregnancy and a balance can be achieved by giving your body what it asks for.

Enjoy your workout!
